Senger studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München (Munich Academy of Fine Arts). From 1959 to 1971, he worked as a graphic artist at the Giori firm in Milan.
From 1960 to 1962, he studied banknote and document design at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Brera Academy of Fine Arts). From 1979 to 1987, he worked as a graphic designer and art consultant at De La Rue Giori in Lausanne, Switzerland. He also contributed to the design of the Deutsche Mark banknotes (*2).
