Artists whose designs were used on Turkish currency

We compiled the list of artists who created the designs of the coins and banknotes of Republic of Türkiye.

Most of the coins were produced by artists employed by the Mint, and most of the banknotes by the engravers of the Central Bank’s Banknote Print, yet in the early periods of the Republic, foreign experts were consulted and the works of artists participating in occasional competitions have also taken place on commemorative and circulation coins.

Planets of the Solar System

Non-circulating commemorative coin set comprising of 10 aluminium coins was struck in 2022 with the theme of Planets of the Solar System.

Coins have a 1 Kurus nominal value and depict Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

 

The common obverse bears an illustration of the nine celestial bodies indicated by their symbols, all orbiting around a crescent and star motif in the centre.

State Mint announcement mentions that all of these coins were exported to Germany.
