Josef Thorak is the scultor who finished the Security Monument in Ankara after Anton Hanak‘s death in 1934.
He also is the creator of the Ataturk mask in Ankara University Faculty of Language and History and Geography Dil Tarih Coğrafya Fakültesindeki Atatürk maskı da kendisinin eseridir.
The monument is depicted on 5 Lira and 1.000 Lira banknotes of the second emission.
